1. Product Description: This warranty applies to the Big Yella™ Backpack (referred to as the "Product"), which includes water-resistant materials, a reinforced base, CSA recommended high-visibility markings, internal organisational pockets, and a padded compartment for laptops.
2. Warranty Period: The manufacturer warrants the Product to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months from the original date of purchase.
3. Warranty Coverage: During the warranty period, if the Product is found to have manufacturing defects or material failures under normal use, the manufacturer will, at its discretion, repair or replace the Product or defective components.
4. Exclusions from Warranty: This warranty does not cover:
- Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, or mishandling (including, but not limited to, damage from dragging the backpack or snagging seams on sharp objects).
- Damage caused by environmental factors such as extreme weather, chemical spills, or similar conditions.
- Any modifications, unauthorised repairs, or alterations made to the Product.
- Incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of the Product (wear & tear).
5. To Maintain the Product’s Performance and Durability, we Recommend the Following:
- Cleaning: Wipe the backpack with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing.
- Zipper Care: Zippers can clog up with dirt and debris over time, especially if you’re working in dusty or gritty environments. To keep them running smoothly, give them a proper clean and lubrication twice a year—or more often if you're on high-debris job sites. Use a toothbrush and some mild soapy water to scrub the zipper coils clean, then blow them out with compressed air to clear any lingering grit. Once dry, apply a light coat of silicone spray, beeswax, or a zipper-safe lubricant to keep things moving.
- Avoid Heat and Sharp Tools Near the Zippers: Extreme heat or contact with sharp objects can permanently damage your zippers. Once a coil is nicked, melted, or cut, it can’t be fixed. A common cause of damage is storing tools blade-up or edge-out—make sure anything sharp is packed with the business end pointed down and away from the zippers.
- Proper Use: Fasten the buckles properly and adjust straps to fit securely and comfortably on the wearer. Avoid dragging backpack or snagging seams on sharp objects. The Big Yella™ is built tough, but forcing in too much gear can put unnecessary strain on the zippers. If you’re struggling to close the bag, it’s a sign it’s overloaded. Repack or lighten the load to avoid causing the zippers to separate or fail over time.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent exposure to extreme conditions.
